Use this page to plan your visit to NAPC in Riverside!

Internet access at the conference is via eduroam - if your institution does not support eduroam we can provide you with internet access details at conference check in.

Nursing mothers will have access to a lactation room, the key will be available from the registration desk in the HUB lobby.

If you are planning to drive and park, we will have free parking available in UCR Lot 24 (follow the signs as you drive onto campus). A parking attendant will be available Sunday 6/23 from 7am-10am, and all other days 7am-9am. If arriving after those times please use the kiosk for a parking permit. 

Please let the parking attendant know should you require mobility impaired parking and they will direct you to an appropriate space.

Lodging

On-Campus Accommodations: UCR Glen Mor Apartments

Reservations for on-campus housing can be made during conference registration.

  • Rate is $60/ night per person and includes breakfast at the residential restaurant, linen service, parking fees, and access to the Glen Mor pool and recreation center.
  • Housing offers 4 bedroom, 2 bath apartments with 1 single bed in each room; kitchen includes appliances but is unfurnished.
  • You may request to share your apartment with another attendee.

Travel

If you are flying in to attend the conference, we strongly suggest that you fly into Ontario airport if possible as this will be more convenient for you traveling to Riverside. Ontario airport is a 20-30 minute drive from UC Riverside.

If you are flying in to LAX and would like to share a ride with other conference attendees, please send an email to napc2019@ucr.edu including your full name, email address, and flight details. As the conference approaches we will email you a list of other attendees who are arriving at a similar time to you, so you can arrange to share a ride from LAX to Riverside if you wish.

Alternatively Super shuttle, Uber/Lyft, and rental cars are good ways to get from the airport to campus.

 

UCR is located in Riverside, California, about an hour east of Los Angeles, and just off the I-215, 60, and 91 freeways.

Family Activities and Information

Mission Inn, Riverside

MISSION INN: Visit historic downtown Riverside, the cultural and urban hub of the Inland Empire. No other place in the region has the diversity offered by downtown Riverside in so compact an area. Our city offers much in the way of historic character, including the iconic Mission Inn Hotel. Join us for a guided tour of the Mission Inn, relax as you wander around Riversides historic downtown area, and explore our many dining options and unique shopping experiences. Tours begin at 10am, Monday June 24th. Tour cost is $10 per guest. Tours limited to 100 guests. Please note: must be a conference attendee or registered Guest/ additional Family Member to attend.

 

 

 

Disneyland

DISNEYLAND:  Take a trip to Disneyland ‘the happiest place on earth.'  Our air-conditioned bus will take you directly to Disneyland in Anaheim where you can spend the day exploring all the attractions the theme park has to offer. Meet your favorite Disney characters, take a thrilling roller coaster ride, relax on the teacups, or explore Disney’s many dining and shopping opportunities. Trip leaves on Tuesday June 25th, at 8am and returns at approximately 7pm. Trip cost is $170 per guest and includes transportation. Trip limited to 100 guests. Please note: must be a conference attendee or registered Guest/ additional Family Member to attend.

Information for Families

  • We have a lactation room available near where talks, posters, and meals will be held.
  • Families are welcome to stay in Glen Mor. Cribs are not provided. You must pay for a bed (and thus room) for every child who needs a bed.

Points of Interest

There is plenty to see and do around Riverside- a few of our major attractions are listed below:

MISSION INN: The Mission Inn Hotel and Spa is one of Riverside's oldest historic attractions. Built in 1876, it began as a small boarding house and expanded rapidly throughout the next century. It houses a variety of historic artifacts including an ancient bell dating back to 1247, an 8-foot Buddha crafted in Japan during the 17th century, and historic artwork and furniture. Famous guests have included 6 US presidents, Amelia Earhart, Albert Einstein, and Helen Keller.

UCR BOTANIC GARDENS: The UCR campus is home to just over 40 acres of botanic gardens. The gardens house approximately 3500 plant species and specimens from all over the world. Attractions include a herb garden, rose gardens, iris and butterfly gardens, and a turtle pond, to name a few.

DOWNTOWN RIVERSIDE: Historic downtown Riverside is the cultural and urban hub of the Inland Empire. No other place in the region has the diversity offered by downtown Riverside in so compact an area. Our city offers much in the way of historic character, many dining options, and boutique shopping experiences. Riverside is also home to the parent naval orange tree, and the world's largest paper cup!
